2nd Generation Blade Pick — part of our Blade & Flagpole Tools range, supplied wholesale to professional locksmiths, locksmith shops and security technicians.
Blade (wafer) cylinders use parallel metal wafers that must all be pushed into alignment before the plug turns. The matching tool carries a formed blade that lifts several wafers at once. Generations 1/2/3 correspond to different wafer arrangements and thicknesses, and extended versions reach deep-profile cylinders. 'Springless' refers to wafers held without individual springs; quick-open variants are tuned for that construction.
Graded by generation and length; extended versions reach 150 mm or more. C-grade blade cylinders (the higher security rating on Chinese security doors) have matching screwdriver-type tools for dismantling rather than opening.
Formed stainless or spring-steel blade with hardened working areas; some models include an aluminium handle.
Widely used on security-door blade cylinders, filing cabinets, tool cabinets and some industrial enclosure locks. Traffic and U-locks with C-grade blade cylinders have dedicated versions.
Three things to check: generation (1/2/3), cylinder depth (whether an extended tool is needed) and whether the profile is shouldered. A set is advisable when unsure.
